Anthony M. D’Antonio

Tony has spent much of his career working in education in one capacity or another. From 1988-90 Tony served as a graduate assistant for the Exercise Science program at Salisbury University and was the assistant men’s soccer coach at SU from 1988-94. During this time, Tony was also the Assistant Director of Housing for Residence Life at SU and served as the First Assistant for the men’s soccer program responsible for player development and the direction of a comprehensive recruitment process serving as the Athletic Liaison to Admissions. In 1996 Tony became a counselor for Admissions at Salisbury University and finished his post as the Associate Dean of Admissions at SU from 2000-02. During this time, Tony assumed the critical role of coordinating the Freshman Class Selection Process, serving as the Freshman Class Chair and supervising the Freshman Class Review Committee. In the fall of 2001, Tony transitioned to the “other side of the desk” and accepted the post as Director of College Counseling at an independent school in Berlin, Maryland. Over the past 15 years serving as Director of College Counseling, Tony has worked with individual students and their families to advise, assist, and advocate on their behalf as they have navigated through a privilege and life changing experience. In 2014, Tony was promoted to Assistant Headmaster/Director of College Counseling.

As a respected educator in the community for over 25 years, Tony was selected by his peers to serve as a Delegate for the National Association for College Admission Counseling and a Regional Delegate with the Potomac and Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling from 2006-09. Because of his dedication and commitment to students and their families, his professional colleagues in the Potomac & Chesapeake Association recognized Tony as the 2007-2008 Counselor of the Year for College Admission Counseling – and Outstanding High School Counselor in the College Admission Process in Maryland. While education is a life career for Tony, he still has a passion for fitness and helping others to achieve their own goals for personal health and wellness.

Tony holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Salisbury University, dual Master’s degrees from Salisbury University and University of Maryland Eastern Shore with concentrations in personal and community counseling, as well as certification in Guidance and Counseling. Tony resides in Hebron, MD with his wife Buffy, and daughters, Gabrielle and Julia.
